Anaadriana Zakarija , MD

Assistant Professor of  Medicine

Dr. Zakarija directs the Center. Her research focuses on thrombosis (clotting) and hemostasis (control of bleeding), and developing treatment modalities to prevent thrombosis in the postoperative setting. Other clinical trials include the identification of bleeding disorders in women, their treatment, and impact on quality of life.

Nurse Coordinator

 Sandra M. Harris, RN, MS

 Ms Harris has been the nurse coordinator for the Northwestern Center for Bleeding Disorders since 1992. She coordinates and administers all aspects of the center, as well as providing teaching and clinical care. 
Ms. Harris has, and continues to participate in multiple research projects.  She also acts as a bleeding disorder consultant to various nursing advisory boards. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee Wisconsin and her Master of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, Illinois.  Ms. Harris has a special interest in the health benefits of exercise and aging issues within the adult bleeding disorder community.
